ArkEdge Space and SSC Space Expand Cooperation Through Ground Segment Agreement and MoU

Tokyo, Japan, October 20, 2026 – ArkEdge Space Inc. (“ArkEdge Space”), a Japan-based small satellite constellation company and SSC Space, a global provider of advanced space services, have signed a service agreement for SSC Space Go ground service, designed for the commercial space market, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on ground station cooperation. The agreements establish a framework for long-term international collaboration and enable ArkEdge Space’s small satellite missions to utilize the SSC Space global ground station network.

Both were signed at the Swedish Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo on 14 October 2026, ahead of a reception celebrating the establishment of the Japanese SSC Space subsidiary.

Under the service agreement, ArkEdge Space will utilize SSC Space Go to gain automated access to its global ground station network for telemetry, commanding and payload data delivery for small satellites and constellations in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). This service will complement ArkEdge Space’s capabilities in satellite IoT communications and micro-satellite platform development, for applications including Earth observation.

The MoU provides a broader, non-exclusive framework to explore three areas of cooperation:
 – Use of the SSC Space global ground station infrastructure, including optical ground station
 – Support for ArkEdge Space ground station deployments outside Japan, including potential access to SSC Space sites, power and terrestrial connectivity, regulatory assistance and maintenance
 – Support for SSC Space customers deploying ground stations in Japan, drawing on ArkEdge Space’s sites, infrastructure and local expertise.

“Successful satellite missions depend on close cooperation between spacecraft developers and ground infrastructure partners. Combining these capabilities will help us ensure mission success, from spacecraft communications to the delivery of mission data, while deepening the broader relationship between Sweden and Japan in these important space domains,” said Charlotta Sund, President and CEO of SSC Space.

“The SSC Space Go agreement gives our partnership a concrete starting point. Through the MoU, we will explore further mutual support for ground infrastructure development in Japan and overseas,” said Mac Kanazawa, Country Manager Japan at SSC Space.

“Reliable global ground station infrastructure is essential for stable satellite constellation operations and delivering space-based data and services worldwide. The SSC Space Go will help strengthen our satellite operations as we advance our collaboration on ground station development and operations in Japan and abroad,” said Takayoshi Fukuyo, CEO of ArkEdge Space.
