Non Terrestrial Networks (NTN)

Supporting IoT Networks from Space

In the next-generation information and communications infrastructure (Beyond 5G), which will be the foundation of all social and economic activities, it is important to operate “Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN)” and Terrestrial Network (TN) in an integrated manner. It is important to integrate NTN and TN.

NTN consists of a constellation of satellites (satellite IoT, inter-satellite optical communications, etc.) and high-altitude platform station (HAPS) with a variety of communication characteristics located in different orbits (multi-orbits) such as low, medium and geostationary orbit.

By seamlessly connecting land, sea, air, and space, and by building a mesh network in space and the stratosphere in the future, there are high expectations for a significant expansion of communication coverage on the ground and the creation of new services for drones and flying cars.

Satellite IoT Network

Our satellite IoT network service is a new solution that uses micro-satellites to efficiently gather extensive data from space. With IoT terminals equipped on our micro-satellites, we provide a simpler way to implement IoT technology in areas lacking ground-based communication infrastructure.

Overview of Satellite IoT Services
We offer end-to-end support for your IoT needs, from initial business planning using satellites to executing proof-of-concept and moving towards commercialization.

Key Features of Our Service:

  • Accessibility: Addresses areas that are difficult to reach, such as forests, seas, and remote islands.
  • Wide Area Coverage: Enables easy observation of large areas by collecting data from space.
  • Ease of Management: The ground transmitters are low-power and easy to manage.

We offer consultation for your specific IoT use cases and provide communication modules with proven success. Additionally, we offer high-value IoT data collection services by integrating IoT with satellite remote sensing and VDES.

Technological Development of Optical Satellite Communication

We are advancing the development and demonstration of optical communication using LEO micro-satellites equipped with optical communication modules. These modules enable Hi-Speed and Hi-Capacity communication between satellites and HAPS, as well as in-between satellites (low Earth orbit to geostationary orbit). Through this work, we aim to make feeder links and backhaul connections within NTNs practical, and to implement optical communication modules in satellites used for remote sensing and maritime data exchange.(e.g. VDES).
