ArkEdge Space Inc. joins the Paris Peace Forum’s Net Zero Space Initiative

ArkEdge Space Inc. (headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takayoshi Fukuyo), a company that promotes low earth orbit constellations and deep space exploration using nano-satellites, has joined the Net Zero Space Initiative, launched by the Paris Peace Forum in November 2021 with industrial and institutional partners to achieve the sustainable use of space by 2030.

The Net Zero Space Initiative demonstrates the commitment and sense of responsibility of numerous actors in the space sector to promote and ensure space safety and sustainability, in order to protect the space infrastructure on which are societies and economies are so dependent.

“As a developer and future operator of a constellation of nano/micro-satellites, ArkEdge Space is committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability of outer space activities,” declared Takayoshi Fukuyo, CEO of ArkEdge Space. “Accordingly, ArkEdge Space will take necessary measures to mitigate the impact of its activities on space environment and participate in domestic, regional and international initiatives and discussions on space safety and sustainability.”

When joining the Net Zero Space Initiative, ArkEdge Space has pledged 1/ to follow the best international practices on space safety and sustainability in the process of designing, developing, deploying, operating and managing the end-of-life of its nano/micro-satellite constellation and 2/ to contribute actively to international discussions on norm- and rule-making for space traffic management, with a special attention to nano/micro-satellites, and to the promotion of safe and responsible behavior in space.
